Bring (v): لانا

  • Come with something (no go) کہیں جائے بغیر
  • E.g. Could you bring me a glass of water, please?

Take (v): کوئی  شے لے کر جانا

  • Take means to go with something (not come)
  • E.g. When I go on holiday, I like to take a good book with me.

Send (v): کسی کام کیلئے بھیجنا لیکن خود ساتھ نہ جانا

  • If you send a person somewhere, you tell him to go there but you don’t go with him.
  • E.g. Our company sends one of us to England after every six months.

Fetch (v):   جاکر لانا

  • If you fetch something, you go to the place where it is and come back with it.
  • E.g. We waited at reception while the porter fetched our luggage.

Carry (v): کوئی شے اٹھا کر لے جانا

  • If you go somewhere with something in your hands, in your arm, on your head, etc. you carry it.
  • E.g. she carried her chair into the garden and sat in the sun.

Collect (v): کسی شے کو خود جاکر لانا

  • If you collect or fetch someone (from somewhere) you go there and bring them back with you.
  • E.g. I have to collect the children from school at 4. O clock.

Pick up (v):  کسی انتظار کرنے والے شخص کو جاکر لانا

  • If you pick up someone (at a place) you go to the place where they are waiting, usually in a car or other vehicle, and then take them somewhere.
  • E.g. I shall pick you up at your house just after seven.
