Letter to the Editor on Social Problems about Adulteration

Write a Letter to the Editor of a Newspaper about the Adulteration of Food.

The Editor,

The News.

Lahore.

Sir,

May I use the space of your newspaper to voice my opposition to the adulteration of food? In our country, adulteration has become a curse for society. No one can defend it. There is hardly any food product that is not adulterated. The shopkeepers and merchants try to earn a large number of profits from this unethical practice.

In this way, they are concerned with the lives and health of the people. They mix interior and dangerous things in the daily eatables. Nothing is now safe in their hands. Even the medicines and drugs are adulterated. We do not get petrol, atta, ghee, oil, salt, or milk-free products from impurities. These merchants and traders are the enemies of the nation. They should know that our religion, Islam, has a hatred for those who indulge in this immoral business.

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is reported to have said,

The adulterers are not one of us.

We give the following proposals to overcome this social evil:

  • The adulterators should be punished severely.
  • An anti-adulteration drive should be started in the country.

The mass media should be used to highlight the names of adulterators.

Yours sincerely,

X.Y.Z.
